North Star Orchards Farm Market

where do I start? My have to haves. The fresh made peanut butter, coffee and fresh baked goods. The fresh vegetable . my granddaughter and I couldn't stop eating the fresh snap peas. The gardening section of plants it's a fun stop for the whole family. Strawberries , Blueberries, apples.. The place is so clean everyone is so friendly

If you go to North Star for one thing, make it the bakery, in particular the half moons! They are the best I've ever had, and the rest of the baked goods are excellent, too! The staff is friendly and helpful, and even though it's a smaller place, the greenhouse is filled with a wide variety of plants and flowers.

Oh was so disappointed as we went late in the afternoon and No Pumpkin Cookies. They have the best pumpkin Cookies. Guess I will have to go tomorrow. Orchard looked pretty picked over but with it being a week before Halloween and late in the day a lot of things were sold out. Was happy to get Candy Apple mix and Carmel wraps. Orchard has alot of Interesting items for sale from produce, to cider, cheese, Halloween items, pumpkins, and baked goods. Interesting place to stop for Fall treats.

We have always enjoyed this orchard! We used to come for Apple picking every single year until we moved to North Carolina...we have missed it since! We recently had the chance to come pick apples there again during a visit with family in the area. So that means that now all 5 of our children have been able to share in the memory making with us there. So glad we had that chance! Only a few things would make it better: There were no signs telling us where to go once we got to the orchard so we had to guess. There used to be signs and they would tell you where to pick when you paid for your bags. Also, they had their incredible selection of baked goods but no cider donuts. That was a bummer because they don't make them down here where we lived and we had hoped our kids could try one. And finally, the ladies working inside were oddly curt and less than friendly. Both of the ladies we interacted with acted annoyed by our need for assistance. We only needed to pay for bags and then select a few pastries. Maybe they had some drama behind the scenes but they really were the most unpleasant part of our trip. Overall we would highly recommend this orchard for Apple picking and fall snacks. It makes for a nice outing for all ages.

Pros: Love the U-pick apples. Great price and the kids love to go and pick their own. Hay ride to the back Apple fields, and a corn maze in the fall. Their apple cider donuts are tasty. U-pick blueberries in the early summer. Cons: Other fruit/veggie prices are very high compared to other local farm stands/markets. Ball canning selection prices are extremely high, about 20% over other local stores. Pumpkins are priced at 40c/lb, leaving a medium sized pumpkin to be approx $10. That's much more than the other local stands. We go there a couple times a year. Mostly in the fall. We frequent other stands/markets more often.
